• University has resources: human capital students/staff/faculty

• Take opportunities offered by community groups -- include an evaluation component

• Build buy-in from the top and community groups

• Take advantage of student resources -- internships class credits

• Performance review process -- cultural shift needed

• Create new models for interdisciplinary work and capacity to evaluate fairly

• Opportunity to collaborate with CSU, CC, CBO's

• Lack of clarity about the term "outreach"

• Perception of UCD/Davis held by regional communities

• Inadequate emphasis/reward for contribution of staff

• Need better means of information sharing and coordination

• Need fair/adequate reward system re: outreach, incentives needed: release time

• Inadequate time/attention to relationship with state government.

1. Identify community leaders/spokespersons with whom to work.

2. Develop processes which foster partnerships/exchange of information/knowledge.

3. Expand on web page/bulletin board, resource information to campus and community.

4. Address issues of accessibility of information (internally and externally).
