Chancellor's Colloquium Distinguished Speaker Series 2010-11

The UC Davis Chancellor’s Colloquium Distinguished Speakers Series will bring to campus in 2011 several renowned leaders in government, industry and higher education.

Their visits promise to spark engaging conversations with the academic community and broader public around pressing issues in food and agriculture, world economics and biochemistry.

The speakers will also share their vision for university-based research in the 21st century. A new initiative launched last year by Chancellor Linda P.B. Katehi, the series is intended to heighten local and national awareness of research at UC Davis.

Each forum will be followed by a panel discussion with faculty and policy experts.

“Join us for the Chancellor’s Colloquium Distinguished Speakers Series and take part in this dynamic exchange about research, UC Davis and the future,” said Carolyn de la Peña, professor of American studies and organizer of the colloquium series.

All talks will begin at 4 p.m. in the Mondavi Center's Vanderhoef Studio Theatre, followed by a reception. These events are free and open to the public. Here are the first planned talks, with more to follow.
