All Are Welcome and Valued at UC Davis

To the UC Davis Community:

On Saturday (Nov. 3), the UC Davis Police Department received reports of flyers displayed in several areas throughout the arboretum that contained anti-white messages. The flyers have been removed as they violated the university’s posting policy.

The last several weeks have been particularly difficult nationwide with continued gun violence, anti-Semitism, anti-immigration, anti-gender identity, and racism. The challenges that many Americans are experiencing understandably become localized and have an impact on each of us in our community.

It seems we have to remind ourselves repeatedly to be respectful and value different perspectives and experiences. This is surely a sign of the times in which we are living. We must remember we are part of a community, and how well we treat each other matters. At UC Davis, all are welcome and all are valued.

If you have information about the flyers posted in the arboretum, please contact the campus Police Department, telephone 530-752-1727.

If you are a student and need advice and assistance, you may contact Student Health and Counseling Services. The Harassment and Discrimination Assistance and Prevention Program (HDAPP) assists individuals and campus units to resolve conflicts and complaints related to harassment, discrimination, sexual harassment, sexual violence, and hate and bias. HDAPP can be reached at 530-747-3864. A resource for UC Davis employees is the Academic and Staff Assistance Program (ASAP).
