Owner and Founder, Guinea Pig Calendar Company
Marcia Messmer. a small business owner is the founder of Guinea Pig Calendar Company, a local manufacturer of calendars and greeting cards. As a loyal supporter of U.C. Davis, Messmer serves on the Dean's Leadership Council at the School of Veterinary Medicine and the U.C. Davis Foundation Board of Trustees. In 2018, she established the Messmer Family Presidential Chair in Companion Exotic Animal Medicine and Surgery Service Fund at the School of Veterinary Medicine. This faculty chair is the first in the United States for Companion Avian and Exotic medicine. Messmer has a lifelong history of volunteerism and has donated her time to various organizations, including the Junior League, the San Francisco Opera, and The Performing Arts Center of Los Angeles County. In addition, through her affiliation with Achievement Rewards for College Scientists, she provides an annual scholarship to a student at the U.C Davis School of Veterinary Medicine. Messmer received her B.A. from Scripps College in Claremont, California. Born and reared in Kansas City, Missouri, she resides in Woodside, California.
