Bio

Kathleen has served as the director of the UC Davis Arboretum since 1998 and as an Assistant Vice Chancellor in the Office of Administration and Resource Management since 2008. Kathleen is co-developer of the UC Davis GATEways (Gardens, Arts, and The Environment) Project that is transforming the Arboretum and campus landscapes into physical and programmatic "gateways" to engage the public and connect them with the riches of UC Davis. In addition, Kathleen is responsible for transitioning the entire campus into a public garden, using the public engagement and educational strategies that have been a hallmark of the Arboretum's success. Kathleen currently serves on the Visiting Committee of the Board of Trustees of Longwood Gardens in Philadelphia, PA. Kathleen has also served on the board of the American Public Gardens Association and received its Professional Citation Award in 2007. Kathleen received an Award of Distinction in 2012 from the College of Agricultural and Environmental Sciences at UC Davis.
